Across the Water and Into the Forest - Paintings by Laura Hamje
The Pacific Northwest has inspired Laura Hamje’s oil painting since 2004. Hamje received her BFA from the University of Washington and has exhibited in Seattle, Astoria (Oregon), Los Angeles, and New York. She began her career painting bridges, highways, and industrial landscapes, often from the vantage point of a fast-moving vehicle. Hamje’s more recent subject matter focuses on slow, ethereal moments influenced by a deep immersion in Pacific Northwest forests and coastlines.
